the adventures of finding a job

So - I came to the conclusion today - as I sat in the library contemplating my next move. I say move - as if I have options - but unfortunately the only option I have is whether or not to leave this building and simply go home. Anyway back to my original thought - my conclusion that is I will use my blog more like a diary.

design philosopy

Interior Architecture. Some may define this major as interior design; I on the other hand define interior architecture as bridging the gap between interior design and architecture. With respect to both fields my education has helped me understand how each party brings something special to a space. Many view architecture and interior design as singular and distinctive, when in reality both should combine and create a cohesive aesthetic environment. As designers we may all view the world differently but we all serve the same goal, to make the world a better place beginning with our surrounding environments.

Over my 5 years at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, I have developed many skills beginning with conceptual and schematic development. G.H. Hardy once said “Imaginary universes are so much more beautiful than this stupidly constructed ‘real’ one”. At Greensboro, I was taught to think outside of the box, and with conceptual development I began working out my imaginary universes, as beautiful as they were in my imagination, I allowed my pen to tell my vision. Over the years I have used mixed media, consisting of hand renderings, hand sketches, SketchUp, AutoCad, Photoshop and Illustrator as means to express my ideas. Through my internship, at Warren Architecture, I have taken every opportunity given, to further my education and knowledge of my field. I accept any challenge head on and continue to work through my problems until everything is completed. My philosophy to any question and problem asked is if I do not know the answer the first time you ask, you may guarantee that the next time; I will be able to tell you the answer plus more. I enjoy researching new techniques and advances of architecture. I enjoy furthering my knowledge of sustainable design, as I feel it is important for not only the environment but our existence. I enjoy knowing that I can work with my colleagues and leave an impression on this world, as our ancestors have created for us. Design isn’t just a hobby, it is a lifestyle, and when done well, it’s the greatest satisfaction one may achieve.
